About Penguin Eclipse
A newer AS2 server set in the 2009 to 2012 era that mixes old Club Penguin rooms and parties with custom items and pins. It runs on its own Ruffle fork, so you can play in the browser, on a desktop app or on Android.
Penguin Eclipse is an AS2 CPPS that started development in November 2025, went into closed beta at the end of January 2026 and opened to everyone on February 15, 2026. Its YouTube channel describes it as a CPPS based on the 2009 to 2012 era. The full 1.0 release came on March 11, 2026.
It's run by two co-owners: xp5, the lead developer who built the modified Ruffle that the game runs on, and Perkins, the lead designer who handles parties, pins, catalogs, socials and the mod team. The site credits a small team on top of that, including designers Dice and clockwork, developer lifeofgames477 and community manager TearoHero.
The update log shows steady work since launch: connection fixes in the first week, a create-a-penguin page, a site redesign, mobile touch controls, a desktop and Android client in July 2026 and a new chat filter later that month. Recent things include The Fair 2026 in September, a YouTuber pin for trusted video makers and a fix so Grab and Spin gives tickets again.
It's still small. Its Discord had about 146 members when we checked in October 2026 and the YouTube channel had 14 subscribers and no videos. The rules say you have to be 13 or older to play.
Who runs it
Co-owners xp5 (lead developer) and Perkins (lead designer). Also Dice (staff leader, designer), clockwork (AS2 designer, developer), lifeofgames477 (developer), TearoHero (staff leader, community manager), and moderators JustADude and Theo.
Parties and updates
About one party every few months so far: the Puffle Party in February 2026 and The Fair 2026 in September. Updates and fixes come out every few weeks, and redeemable codes get posted on the community page now and then.
What's in Penguin Eclipse
- Custom Ruffle fork
xp5 built a modified version of Ruffle for the server, so the AS2 client runs in a normal browser with no Flash plugin.
- Desktop and Android apps
The community page offers a Windows installer, a Linux AppImage and .deb, and an Android APK, all at version 1.1.23 when we checked.
- Mobile touch controls
Phones and tablets get touch controls with a joystick, haptic feedback and key repeat when you hold an input.
- Parties and custom content
Perkins puts out parties, pins, catalogs and custom items. Past parties include the Puffle Party 2026 and The Fair 2026.
- YouTuber Pin
Trusted players who post Club Penguin videos on YouTube can get a pin that shows they're the real deal.
- Redeemable codes
The community page posts codes you can redeem in game, like FISHDOGSTAND in August 2026.
- Moderation snapshots
The terms say the game may take low frame rate snapshots of the game canvas for moderation. Only admins can see them and they get deleted after two hours.

Is Penguin Eclipse safe?
Moderation and chat filtering on Penguin Eclipse are weak from what we've seen, so younger players should be careful and nobody should share personal info in chat. Security is rated low, which means it's missing some of the basics we check for, like proper HTTPS, up to date software or a protected sign-up. It doesn't get updated very often, so bugs and problems can stick around for a while. Like with any CPPS, use a password you don't use anywhere else.
How to play Penguin Eclipse
Penguin Eclipse plays in your browser through Ruffle, a Flash emulator, so you don't need Flash installed. If you'd rather not play in the browser they have a desktop app too. Make an account on penguineclipse.com first.
