About CPA Battleground

An HTML5 server built for the Club Penguin Armies community, where armies hold battles, wars, tournaments and training events. If you're in an army or want to join one, this is where a lot of the action happens.

CPA Battleground (CPAB) is a non-profit server made for CPPS armies. Its homepage tells the backstory: CPATG was a game where over 100 armies fought, and when it was gone the army community needed a new place to battle. The CPPS wiki lists it as the reopened form of Club Penguin Armies (cparmies.net), which itself came after Club Penguin Armies: The Game, a server that got a DMCA.

It came out in late April 2022, right after Club Penguin Rewritten shut down, and armies like the Rebel Penguin Federation moved their events there straight away. Servers have names like Warzone and Battleground. Armies still use it in 2026 for uniform events, practice battles and tournaments.

It runs in the browser on the Yukon HTML5 client. Commands let you join an army and count how many of its troops are online on your server or in your room, see spectator counts, jump rooms, and add items, furniture and coins.

The rules are written around army play: no inappropriate tactics, no showing up to battles you weren't invited to, and spectators who are asked to log off during big tournaments or wars get kicked. Doxxing or DDoSing means an instant ban, and mutual servers may be told about it.

Parties and updates

Events are run by the armies themselves, not the server: daily trainings, invasions, wars and tournaments, mostly announced in army Discords and posts like RPF's Tuxedo Times.

What's in CPA Battleground

• Army commands

  !army joins an army by its short name, and !size, !sizeroom and !lockouts count that army's troops online on your server, in your room or in other rooms.

• Spectator counts

  !spectators and !spectatorsroom show how many non-army players are watching on the server or in the room.

• Battle and tournament rules

  You can't spectate major tournaments or war battles if judges ask you to log off, and trolling an event gets you kicked.

• Free items and coins

  !ai, !af and !ac add clothing, furniture and coins so armies can put together uniforms.

• Browser play

  Runs on the Yukon HTML5 client at play.cpabattleground.com, so there's nothing to download.

Is CPA Battleground safe?

CPA Battleground has a chat filter and some moderation, but it can be hit or miss. It's fine for most players, just use the report button if something's off. Its security looks okay from the outside, but it's missing a few extras the best servers have. It doesn't get updated very often, so bugs and problems can stick around for a while. Like with any CPPS, use a password you don't use anywhere else.
