About Waddle Forever

Not a server but a free, open-source singleplayer Club Penguin you download and run offline, covering 2005 to 2017. You can jump to almost any party on a timeline, add mods, and host small games for friends.

Waddle Forever is a downloadable Club Penguin client with its own local server built in, so the game runs on your computer with no online servers to shut down or leak your data. You log in with any username and password, and the full-looking server list is just decoration.

The big feature is the Timeline: pick a month and year, then any day the real game had an update, and the island loads as it was then. It started in September 2024 aimed at speedrunners, added AS1 in April 2025, and reached 1.0 at the end of April 2025 with most of 2005 to 2010 playable plus a basic 2016/2017 version. Later versions added the archived parties from 2011 and 2012.

Volunteers rebuild missing parties and rooms by hand where archives are incomplete, and they're credited in each release. It's built in TypeScript with an Electron client forked from the Club Penguin Avalanche client, and the server borrows from the Houdini and Mammoth emulators.

Since 1.2.0 (October 2025) there's basic multiplayer: one person hosts over a LAN or a VPN like Radmin VPN, ZeroTier or playit.gg and friends connect. The FAQ and the GitHub page both warn that the server is easy to exploit, so only play with people you trust.

Who runs it

Made by nhaar, with code contributors like Randomno, ungato and ChrisCPI and party recreators like Doubleuman, Blue Kirby and lifeofgames477.

Parties and updates

No live events since it's offline. You visit past parties on the Timeline. New versions come out every few weeks to months, most recently 1.5.1 in September 2026.

What's in Waddle Forever

  • Timeline

Pick any date the original game had an update and the island, parties and catalogs load as they were that day.

  • Offline singleplayer

Everything runs on your own computer, and your penguins are saved in a local data folder.

  • Mods and custom items

Drop a mod into the mods folder, or make one by copying the game's file paths. Custom items go in an items.json file.

  • Friends over LAN

Host a game over a LAN or VPN and friends join with your IP. Only invite people you trust, since the server isn't secure.

  • Party recreations

Community recreators rebuild rooms from parties that weren't fully archived, like the Cove Opening Party and Summer Kickoff 2007.

  • Built for speedruns

Being fully usable for every speedrun is one of the main goals, with things like a 30 FPS setting and Thin Ice in-game timers.
