About New Club Penguin
A long-running AS3 server from 2020 that moved from Flash to an HTML5 browser version in February 2026 with a fresh start. It's free, runs English, Spanish and Portuguese, and keeps adding custom parties on top of the classic game.
NewCP is run by Jonas, who used to be co-owner and lead designer of Club Penguin Online. It opened on July 8, 2020 with a Beta Party and hit 20,000 accounts in four days. In November 2020 it became the first CPPS to bring back Card-Jitsu Snow, starting with a week-long public beta.
For most of its life it was a Flash game. When browsers dropped Flash at the end of 2020 the team put out a downloadable client for Windows and macOS. The Flash version grew past 2,000,000 accounts by February 2023 and over 5,000,000 by the time it closed in February 2026.
In early 2026 the game restarted as an HTML5 version that runs in any browser, on phones too. Old accounts don't carry over, but Flash players can bring 25% of their coins and 5 items of their choice into the new game, and they can pick a new username. The team also promised a less strict chat filter and blog polls where players vote on parties.
The blog is pretty active now, with party recaps, Igloo Spotlight contests and monthly Beak Peek update posts. Recent additions include Card-Jitsu Water with a ninja battle pass (July 2026), SoundStudio for making your own music, and reworked igloos with proper edges and depth.
Who runs it
Owned by Jonas. Blog posts are written by team members like Aida and Amy.
Parties and updates
A new party or event roughly every month, with recaps on the blog. Recent ones: Holiday Party 2025, Card-Jitsu Party (Jul 2026) and the Summer Festival (Aug 2026), plus community meet-ups with staff.
What's in New Club Penguin
- Card-Jitsu
The Dojo has four game modes. NewCP was the first CPPS with Card-Jitsu Snow (2020), and the HTML5 version added Card-Jitsu Water in July 2026 with a battle pass of ninja gear.
- Stamps and minigames
Over 400 stamps and more than 25 minigames, including newer activity stamps for things like being a tour guide.
- SoundStudio
Mix your own songs at the Dance Club DJ booth and use them as your igloo music.
- Igloos
Igloos can be set to day or night and have weather like rain, snow or a meteor shower. In 2026 they got proper edges and depth so furniture doesn't sink or cover chat.
- Flash carry-over
Old Flash players can move 25% of their coins and 5 items of their choice into the HTML5 game through a manager panel.
- Community contests
Igloo Spotlight contests, Penguin of the Week/Month awards, an art wall in the Book Room and a Lucky Commenter prize on blog posts.

Is New Club Penguin safe?
New Club Penguin has a chat filter and some moderation, but it can be hit or miss. It's fine for most players, just use the report button if something's off. From the outside its security looks good, with proper HTTPS, up to date software and a protected sign-up. Like with any CPPS, use a password you don't use anywhere else.
