About Club Penguin Atake

A free fan server where one download gets you almost every version of Club Penguin: Experimental Penguins, Penguin Chat, Penguin Chat 3, AS1, AS2 and AS3. Good if you want to hop between eras instead of picking one server per era.

Club Penguin Atake (CPA) was started by Boo0 in April 2020 as an AS2 server on CPPSCreator. Its big idea is eras: you pick which version of the game you want when you launch the client, and the same account works across all of them. Right now that means Experimental Penguins, Penguin Chat, Penguin Chat 3, AS1, AS2 and AS3.

For a while it also had Club Penguin Island, online through a partnership with Waddle Penguins Island and offline through OpenCPI. The online version went away after Waddle Penguins Island shut down in April 2025. On top of the old game it adds its own stuff: more than 100 custom puffles, an arcade full of minigames from old parties, and Atake TV, which streams Club Penguin movies plus the team's own machinima.

It's a small community. The team posted about hitting 1,000 users in January 2024, 2,000 in October 2024 and 3,000 on February 7, 2025, and said 165% more people signed up in 2024 than in 2023. The site says it's run by One Live together with Sunrise Games, and you have to be 13 or older to play (16 in the EU).

It has had a rough history with data. It lost its database twice in 2022, once while moving hosts and once when the server was terminated and the backups turned out to be corrupt, and it was hit by a DDoS on Christmas Day 2023.

Who runs it

Started and owned by Boo0. cchris writes most of the news posts. Run by One Live (Fullmoon) in partnership with Sunrise Games.

Parties and updates

The app page promises a new themed party every month. Recent examples: a Halloween Party from October 14 to November 4, 2024, and a Holiday Party starting December 2, 2024 that decorated every era, with a custom puffle on AS3, a scavenger hunt on AS2 and custom minigames. The newest news post we found is from February 2025 and the Bluesky account's last post is from December 2024, so check the Discord for what's on now.

What's in Club Penguin Atake

• Every era in one client

  When you start the game you choose Experimental Penguins, Penguin Chat, Penguin Chat 3, AS1, AS2 or AS3, all on the same account.

• 100+ custom puffles

  The wiki says it has more custom puffles than any other CPPS, over 100 kinds to adopt, and parties sometimes come with a new one.

• Arcade

  An arcade in the forest lets you play minigames from past parties whenever you want.

• Atake TV

  A separate TV site that plays original Club Penguin movies and the team's own movies, and it has streamed live events like the CPPSCreator farewell meetup.

• Labs and Ruffle

  Experimental features live on a Labs site for anyone with an account, including a Ruffle version so you can play without Flash or on mobile.

• Mobile app archive

  The site keeps an archive of the old official Club Penguin mobile apps like Sled Racer, Puffle Wild and SoundStudio.

• Unlock codes

  There's an Unlock Items page for codes, which the team hands out for milestones (1000USERS gave items, pins and 1,000 coins) and after problems like the 2022 data loss.

    Ownership change announced: the game now operates under Fullmoon and Sunrise Games. "Blast Off 2.0" launched the same day with online Experimental Penguins, Penguin Chat, Penguin Chat 3, Club Penguin Island online and an archive of the old Club Penguin mobile apps. source

    The original CPPSCreator era closed for good after a final Waddle On Party and a last meetup streamed on Atake TV. Players could move their items over through a Discord support ticket. source

Is Club Penguin Atake safe?

Club Penguin Atake has a chat filter and some moderation, but it can be hit or miss. It's fine for most players, just use the report button if something's off. Its security looks okay from the outside, but it's missing a few extras the best servers have. Like with any CPPS, use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Past incidents

1. Feb 2022

   Lost its database while switching server hosts. Everyone had to re-create their accounts and got an unlock code worth 10,000 coins. We couldn't find an official post about this one, only the wiki. Read more

2. Nov 2022

   Second database loss caused by server termination and corrupted backups. All data created or changed after July 7, 2022 was lost, including puffles adopted after that date. The team promised to give back lost items and Boo0 re-added puffles through Discord. Read more

3. Dec 2023

   A DDoS on December 25, 2023 from 3 to 5 pm CET hit the website, every era, the TV and the CDNs. The team took everything offline at 5:54 pm to investigate and brought the main services back around 10:40 pm. Read more

How to play Club Penguin Atake

Club Penguin Atake plays in your browser through Ruffle, a Flash emulator, so you don't need Flash installed. If you'd rather not play in the browser they have a desktop app too. Make an account on cpatake.boo first.

Works on

Downloadable app for Windows (7 or later), Mac (macOS 10.10 or later) and Linux. You can also play in a browser that still has Flash, or in any browser and on phones through the Ruffle version on Labs.

Cost

Free. The membership page says membership is currently unavailable, and the app page lists catalogs, all puffle colors and party rewards as open to everyone.
